“JESUS HAS AN ETERNAL DOMINION”

Greetings and Doxology

 ⁴ John,

   To the seven churches in the province of Asia:

   Grace and peace to you from him who is, and who was, and who is to come, and from the seven spirits^[a] before his throne, ⁵ and from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth.

   To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood, ⁶ and has made us to be a kingdom and priests to serve his God and Father—to him be glory and power for ever and ever! Amen.

 ⁷ “Look, he is coming with the clouds,”^[b]
   and “every eye will see him,
even those who pierced him”;
   and all peoples on earth “will mourn because of him.”^[c]
            So shall it be! Amen.

 ⁸ “I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.”

INTRO.:

ETERNAL – MEANING EVERLASTING, UNENDING, NEVER END, ENDLESS.

DOMINION – POWER, AUTHORITY, CONTROL, COMMAND

-          WE HEARD FROM PREVIOUS MESASGES CONCERNING THE LIFE OF JESUS AND HIS MINISTRIES AND THAT WHO IS JESUS?

-          AND IT WILL NOT END THEIR, WE WILL KNOW HIS ETERNAL DOMINION

-          YET JESUS IS DISTINCTLY DIFFERENT THAN ANY TYPE OF ROYALTY OR GOVERNMENT, WE ARE FAMILIAR WITH.

-          NOW SIX POINTS THAT WHO HE IS? AND THE DIFFERENCE WITH EARTHLY DOMINION.

I – HE IS THE FIRST RISE FROM THE DEATH AND DIE NO MORE. V5

-          CHRIST GIVES US A GLIMPSE OF WHAT WILL HAPPEN AFTER WE DIE.

II – HE IS GREATER THAN ANY KING IN ALL THE EARTH. V5

-          HE IS LORD OVER ALL CREATION – NO EARTHLY LEADER CAN MAKE THAT CLAIM.

III – HE LOVES US AND DEMONSTRATED HIS LOVE BY HIS DEATH. V5

-          RARELY HAS SOMEONE IN AUTHORITY OVER OTHERS OFFERED TO DIE IN THEIR PLACE.

IV – HE HAS SET US FREE FROM OUR SINS AND GIVEN US A PLACE OF HONOR IN HIS KINGDOM. V 6

-          FOR THOSE OF US WHO HAVE RECEIVED HIM (JESUS) INTO OUR LIVES, HE HAS GIVEN US A PLACE OF TREMENDOUS PRIVILEGE AND ACCESS TO THE THRONE OF GOD.

V – HE WILL RETURN AGAIN IN TRIUMPH / VICTORY. V7

-          THIS KING WILL DRAW THE ATTENTION OF THE ENTIRE UNIVERSE WITH HIS RETURN.

VI – HE IS ETERNAL. V 8

-          HE ALWAYS HAS BEEN AND ALWAYS WILL BE, NO ONE ELSE BUT GOD COULD MAKE THAT CLAIM.

CONCLUSION:

-          SOME PEOPLE VIEW JESUS AS AN ARTISTS.

-          BUT THE BIBLE NEVER DOES GIVE US A CLEAR DESCRIPTION OF JESUS PHYSICAL APPEARANCE

-          IF IT DID, WE WOULD UNDOUBTEDLY WORSHIP THE IMAGE INSTEAD OF HIM.

-          THIS DESCRIPTION OF CHRIST IN REVELATION – THOUGH IT DOES NOT GIVE US CLEAR PHYSICAL APPEARANCE OR PICTURE

-          BUT ALLOW US TO SEE THE GLORIFIED CHRIST, AND THIS CHRIST IS FULL OF POWER AND MAJESTY. AMEN….
